KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual Break-Up Becomes Talk of the Town | COOLBUSTER.net

KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual Break-Up Becomes Talk of the Town | COOLBUSTER.net: "KC Concepcion and Piolo Pascual have called it quits. In her exclusive interview with Boy Abunda on “The Buzz” last Sunday, November 27, the singer-actress confirmed that she and her boyfriend have gone separate ways.

KC admitted that her relationship with Piolo has ended, but refused to reveal the reason why.

“May mga hinahanap ako na napakabasic lang na hanapin ng isang babae sa isang boyfriend, sa isang lalake. Ayoko nang pumunta sa details kasi ayaw kong siraan sya,” KC said.

KC believes both of them loved each other in spite of predicaments. KC felt she may not be the one Piolo needs in his life, but she declined to comment if there was a third-party involved.

“Naniniwala naman ako na pag sinasabi ni PJ na minahal niya ako. Naniniwala naman ako na meron namang katotohanan iyon. Pero, masakit man sabihin, hindi ako yung, siguro nag-fail din ako dahil hindi ako yung kailangan niya sa buhay niya, or hindi ako yung hinahanap niya sa buhay niya...and hindi, hindi ko mabigay sa kanya yung kailangan niya” she said."

Tentative deal moves NBA lockout closer to end - Philly.com

Tentative deal moves NBA lockout closer to end - Philly.com: "The NBA and representatives of what was formerly the National Basketball Players Association reached a tentative agreement early Saturday morning to end the league's 149-day lockout.

The league expects to open the season with a tripleheader on Christmas Day. Despite missing almost eight weeks of the season, the NBA is aiming to squeeze in a 66-game season for each team, which would require extending the regular season by approximately two weeks and condensing the playoffs. A typical NBA season begins about Nov. 1 and includes 82 games.

The 76ers are scheduled to open training camp Dec. 9 at the team's practice facility at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine."

Priest: Arroyo has right to ask for house arrest

MANILAPhilippines – (UPDATE) A close friend of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo said the ex-president has the right to be granted house arrest while waiting for the resolution of an electoral sabotage case.
In an interview with dzMM, Mindanao Peace Advocate and Director of the Institute for Autonomy and Governance Fr. Eliseo “Jun” Mercado said the house arrest is “out of respect not for the person, but for the position she held for more than 9 years.”

This is from the French concept called “noblesse oblige” or literally, nobility obliges.
While it is true that Arroyo needs to face justice, she should not be treated like a “common criminal,” he said.
Mercado said he is a close friend of Arroyo, but they parted ways when he joined the late former President Corazon Aquino in calling for her stepping down from office during the NBN-ZTE scandal.

He lambasted the “mob-lynching” of the ex-leader.

In a separate statement, he said, “I am truly saddened that people are being goaded to leer for mob lynching of PGMA even in times of sickness and definitely I see this as wanting in magnanimity of spirit. I have observed this with trepidation and I have asked myself where all these cruelties are coming from...”

He noted Arroyo’s administration was characterized by scams and impeachment attempts, but “that to resolve all these controversies we should be guided by our high ethical standard and rule of law not by any tinge of vindictiveness and definitely not by mob lynching albeit it seems popular.”

In his radio interview, he said the Commission on Elections (Comelec) should have first filed cases against the perpetrators of the electoral sabotage.

He said Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes should first “clean his own house.”

De Lima: House arrest bid lacking evidence

MANILA, Philippines - The lawyers of former President and now Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo have not presented enough evidence to support her bid for house arrest, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said yesterday.
“There is no basis anymore for her continuous hospital confinement. If there is no basis for hospital arrest, there is less reason for house arrest,” De Lima told reporters at Camp Karingal in Quezon City yesterday.
She said it was still up to the court to decide on which detention arrangement would be appropriate for the former president.

“They (Arroyo’s lawyers) have not cited a reason yet (for house arrest),” De Lima said. “They have to convince the court that house arrest is the best arrangement.”

She said the fact that the doctors of the Pampanga lawmaker have manifested that she could be treated on an outpatient basis shows that the house arrest arrangement is no longer warranted.

The prosecution panel from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday asked a Pasay City court for Arroyo’s immediate transfer from the St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City to a local jail, preferably at the jail facility of the Southern Police District.

Judge Jesus Mupas of the Regional Trial Court Branch 112 is hearing the electoral sabotage case filed against the former president.

On the same day, Arroyo’s lawyers withdrew their motion seeking hospital arrest after a doctor testified that the former president was already fit to go home.
Dr. Mario Ver, the orthopedic spine surgeon of Arroyo, testified that the congresswoman is now recovering and could be treated as an outpatient and her full recovery is expected after several weeks.
Mupas gave both the prosecution and defense panels until Monday to submit their respective motions on the issue before a ruling would be rendered.

The Comelec filed electoral sabotage charges against Arroyo, former provincial elections supervisor Lintang Bedol, and former Maguindanao governor Andal Ampatuan Sr. for allegedly rigging the senatorial elections in Maguindanao in 2007.
